Why BEY? The Heart Behind the Restaurant
Opening BEY was a dream, a labor of love that stems from my deep desire to share the Lebanese hospitality that shaped my childhood. In Lebanon, food is not just something you eat—it’s an expression of love, a way to take care of people. Growing up, I always witnessed my family cooking for others, serving food as a way to show we cared, no matter who was coming or what the occasion was. The table was always overflowing with dishes, beautifully plated and decorated, as if it were a feast—even on regular days. It wasn’t about the money, the accolades, or the hustle—it was about the love and the joy that food brought to others.
A Personal Journey of Food and Family
Some of my most treasured memories are of being next to my mom as she baked a cake in our kitchen. I can still remember the smell—the zesty lemon, the soft, sweet batter, and the sound of the mixer fluffing the eggs. That moment marked the beginning of my journey with food. I always sought those moments—the ones that take you back to your roots, to the people you love, and to the tastes and sounds that connect us to our past.
At BEY, I’ve made it my mission to share those moments with every guest who walks through our doors. I want each person who dines with us to feel like they’ve stepped into my home—welcomed, cared for, and treated like family. Food is an extension of who I am. When someone tells me that my moussaka brought them back to their childhood, or that the flavors made them feel like they were wrapped in a warm hug, that’s when I know I’m doing something right. These are the moments that bring tears to my eyes, and they’re what keep me coming back to the kitchen every day.
